a former strip illusionist is pleading guilty... to possessing and distributing child pornography. 39-year-old "jan rouven" was arrested in march... after police found thousands of disturbing pictures and videos of very young children. the u-s attorney's office says rouven admitted to sharing the pictures. his sentencing is set for next march. rouven headlined "the new illusions" show at the tropicana until his arrest. metro police released video of an officer involved shooting that happened earlier this week. what we're about to show you is a split screen... one side shows the officer firing his weapon as he is almost hit by a car. the other shows his parner's point of view, so you can hear what happened as the first officer did not have audio on his camera. his girls marissa morris were moving out of that apartment and across the street when at some point one of the officers tried to arrest marissa on an alleged warrant. now sedillo tells us that morris said there was some sort of mistake and refused to go with the officer until he showed her what that warrant was for. and that is when things turned violent. (voice of: jimmy sedillo) "she weighs maybe 110 pounds, maybe the officer was maybe 220. he went (about) the whole thing all wrong." sedillo claims the officer threatened to taze morris. sedillo says morris arrested for assaulting an officer and resisting arrest. (mark taylor/ reporter) "now we did send this video to flagstaff police and just within the last hour we did receive a statement saying that 'our agency is very concerned about what is depicted in this video" and that they are immediately launching an internal investigation into what happened. in the newsroom, i'm mark taylor reporting. the officer involved in this incident has been put on leave. police later determined the warrants the woman was wanted for were no longer active. one of the men

murderer" was supposed to get out of prison by tomorrow. but now... brendan dassey is staying behind bars. a federal appeals court blocked dassey's release today. the state of wisconsin is appealing a judge's decision to overturn dassey's murder conviction. dassey will have to stay in prison until that appeal is heard in court. dassey was found guilty in 2007 of killing photographer teresa halbach, along with his uncle steven avery. he was 16 at the time. their story was told through the hit netfli documentary "making a murderer". there was an outcry for this case to be reopened... especially since police had questioned dassey without a parent or lawyer present. "making a murderer" season two is in production now. firefighters are battling wildfires in six southern states. the smoke is so wide-spread... it can be seen from space! carolina. the poor air quality has been so bad in tennessee... at least 200 people have been hospitalized with breathing problems. people in affected areas are being evacuated... but some people are refusing to leave their homes. and in texas, firefighters say it will take more time to fully extinguish this fire at a metal recycling company. this fire started yesterday afternoon, and plumes of smoke could be seen for miles. this company recycles engines and metal parts. there are concerns that some metals have fuel in them still, and that is being released in the air. one firefighter was treated for minor heat exhaustion, but no one else was hurt. president obama announced who is getting a presidential medal of freedom... and it is a very star-studded list. ellen degeneres... robert de niro... tom hanks... bruce springsteen... and diana ross are just a few of the 21 honorees. the presidential medal of freedom is considered the nation's highest civilian honor. the recipients will receive their award in a ceremony on tuesday. in more local

shot his neighbor in self defense... after seeing him with a firearm. that weapon ended up being a pellet gun. metro released an arrest report for "peter caris" today. it reveals caris had been fighting with the victim, "dennis davis" for three years. the two lived at a mobile home park, and their last argument happened after caris refused to let davis' friend use a club house at the park. there was an argument, and neighbors heard several gunshots. police say there is no evidence davis ever threatened caris with his gun... but evidence does show that caris chased dav shooting him. an elementary school was put on lockdown... after police chased suspected car thieves. according to police... one of them had a gun. this happened near jones and washington... right by paul e- culley elementary school. police say the three suspects stole a car... but then ran off from it. the school was place don lockdown as a precaution while they looked for the suspects. all three were arrested. a few people will breathe fresher air in north las vegas.... now that the famous r-c pig

convenient or a little creepy. professional photographers are using facial recognition programs to find people they take pictures of. the program is being tested on the company's newest ship, the carnival vista. photographers take pictures of travelers throughout the trip and on excursions. rather than hanging the pictures on a wall... now they can use facial recognition technology to match photographs with the right passengers. those passengers can then buy the pictures if they choose. carnival says the process makes it easier for people to find their pictures. photographers also aren't printing out thousands of pictures, just to throw the unclaimed ones away. a 13-year-old autistic boy will only drink from a light blue cup meant for toddlers. ben's cup is wearing out... so

globe for a replacement. this is the "tommee tippee" cup marc carter is looking for. his son ben has actually been hospitalized before for dehydration, because he refuses to drink out of anything else. the cup company stopped making it about 10 years ago. so marc posted a picture of the cup on twitter, and a plea for help. it has been shared thousands of times, with the hashtag "cup for ben". so far, ten cups are on the way to marc and ben's home. player-- kris bryant-- can now has another title to go with his world series championship. the las vegas native has been named the 20-16 "national league most valuable player." bryant graduated from bonanza high school where he played for their varsity team. he was drafted into the major leagues in 20-13. this is the first m-v-p title of his career. it comes two week after the chicago cub's historic world series win. one middle school girl noticed her textbooks were old and out-dated so she decided to do something about it. "i find it really great because some students really care about their education like i might not even use the fullness of my education in the future but i still find it very important to have this education." "allie miner" is a 7-th grader at brown junior high school.
